Urbana Named Ohio’s “Best Hometown” for 2024-25!

This past weekend, on November 9th, I had the honor of delivering my speech, Community Spirit, at Urbana’s celebration as one of Ohio Magazine’s “Best Hometowns” for 2024-25. This award highlights the vibrant community spirit, historic charm, and shared pride that make our city truly special.

Organized by the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, the event was a tribute to all who bring Urbana’s unique character to life. In my speech (video below), I shared my thoughts on the values that unite us—hope, love, and unity—values reflected in Urbana’s Black Heritage Festival, our bustling downtown, and the strong bonds among neighbors.
